Plunge Pool Design

This 6.0m x 2.5m plunge pool in Black Rock was designed to sit quietly within a well‑established garden, creating a private, refined outdoor space that feels as though it has always belonged there. The homeowners wanted a pool that complemented the earthy tones and mature planting already in place, guiding a pool design that prioritised subtlety, balance and long‑term usability.

Functionality was central to the brief. The clients requested an in‑floor cleaning system for easy maintenance, generous in‑pool seating for relaxation, and a layout that supported everyday enjoyment. The flexibility of our pre‑engineered inground steel pool construction allowed these features to be incorporated seamlessly while maintaining the clean, understated aesthetic of the pool.

Site access presented one of the project’s biggest challenges. With no direct entry to the backyard, all excavation had to be completed through an underground car park and up a staircase. A conveyor belt system was used to safely and efficiently remove excavated soil, allowing the project to progress smoothly despite the complex conditions.

The surrounding landscape, designed and planted by Project Green Design, plays a key role in the outcome. Earthy travertine pool surrounds, carefully selected planting, and thoughtful spatial planning create a calm, private environment that frames the pool beautifully. The result is a timeless, garden‑integrated pool that balances style, functionality and ease of maintenance.

Despite the next‑level access, smart planning, deep construction knowledge, and the flexibility of our pre‑engineered steel pool system ensured the design was delivered seamlessly within the established garden.
