Rectangular Pool Design

This award winning pool project, nestled at the rear of a charming family property in Coburg, is a masterpiece of classic design and modern comfort. The custom pool design, measuring 6.0m by 3.0m, boasts a sleek rectangular shape that complements the timeless aesthetics of the family home.

What sets this pool apart is its thoughtful and customised features. A 2.0m x 0.5m swim-out entry has been incorporated, providing a soft and inviting step and seat area for relaxation without compromising the main swimming area. The client's passion for swimming led to the request for greater-than-normal pool depths, resulting in a custom designed floor profile ranging from 1.2m to 2.0m. This ambitious depth, particularly of a pool design of this size, required additional excavation, encountering rock along the way, but the end result perfectly met the client's desires.

The Kiama pool interior, with its grey stone-like colour, harmoniously blends with natural elements and textures, filling the space with warmth and a relaxed ambiance.

The pool isn’t just for swimming; it’s been thoughtfully designed to be aesthetically pleasing. Strategically placed deck jets transform the pool into a peaceful water feature when admired from the home. These deck jets also provide entertainment and fun for family and friends, whether lounging poolside or when cooling off on a balmy summer day.

Preserving the existing Loquat tree, a personal favourite of the owners, was a priority during the initial landscape design and throughout the project, its presence is now an integral part of the pool and landscape design.

In the pool zone, a featured outdoor shower with a circular stone base and timber accents serves as both a functional amenity and a visual highlight. Providing privacy was also a key factor, and this was achieved through the use of 2.5m H Axon screens, which expertly edited unwanted views and enhanced the overall privacy of the space. A lounging deck with natural timber tones provides a cozy and inviting spot for relaxation.

Through careful planning and a collaborative effort involving Anthony Scott Landscape Design for landscape design, the Outdoor Landscapes Company for landscaping execution, and Albatross Pools for custom pool design, construction, and installation, the client successfully transformed their ordinary grassed backyard into a harmonious oasis where classic and modern elements blend seamlessly, providing a space for family fun and entertainment year round.
